Located in the heart of Leimert Park, Azla is our family-owned and operated vegan Ethiopian restaurant. The inspiration for the restaurant comes from our family’s weekly Sunday gatherings, where we eat, partake in an Ethiopian coffee ceremony, and share our lives. Through conversations full of familial history, cultural wisdom, and personal revelations, we bring one another joy and collectively realize our goals. Preparing and plating the delicious and vibrant plant-based dishes at Azla is one of the ways we find happiness and wholeness, and we want our customers to feel both when they meet us and dig in.
As founders who have lived in Leimert Park and neighboring View Park for years, we also take great pride in becoming a branch of the area’s rich network of restaurants, businesses, and event spaces. We hope generations of people will meet and eat at Azla, finding joy on their plates and in each other’s stories.
