FAMILY MEAL: 4 Cuisines Celebrating Women in Restaurants // Hosted at Casa Vega
ABOUT THE COLLAB: A mainstay of restaurant culture, “Family Meal” is provided by the restaurants to its staff before the food-service rush of customers. The meal is always nourishing, filling, and is often had wherever one can find time to enjoy—over a sink, in the stock room, or if you’re lucky, sitting down at a table with peers. We invite you to sit down with us for this first-of-its kind Family Meal celebrating hearty foods we love.
ABOUT THE HOSTS: Christy Vega (Casa Vega), our Chef Vanda Asapahu (Ayara Thai), Kwini Reed (Poppy and Rose), and Jeanne Cheng (Kye’s) met through the 2022 James Beard Foundation Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership program. Through their shared experiences as mothers, independent family restaurant owners, growing up in minority cultures in LA, and a common desire to create positive social impact through their businesses, these leaders have experienced the depth and power of the feminine and all the gifts women embody that nurture and support creating a better world. RE:Her is instrumental in cultivating this spirit and amplifying female voices.
