Born and raised in Los Angeles, Carol Kwan developed an early interest in all things culinary from reading cookbooks in the library and learning to cook from cooking shows and food publications during college in San Francisco.  She studied communications and worked in PR in the corporate world until her first child brought her back to Los Angeles.   This gave her an opportunity to explore starting a food business with her partner/brother, Phillip Kwan, and together they created the Mama Musubi brand. They began their concept at 626 Night Market and have since grown to five farmers markets throughout LA and a brick-and-mortar location at Kitchen United in Pasadena.
