Roni Cleveland, a South Central Los Angeles Native, is a mom, wife and new restaurateur who has always had a love for food and the dining experience. A love that she shares with husband, Chef John Cleveland, who co-owns and operates Post & Beam Restaurant in the Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw area. Roni went to Crenshaw High School and studied Sociology and Education at the University of California, Santa Barbara –where she also had the opportunity to study abroad in the UK. Roni has a background in teaching, mentoring, and customer service. She has taught Cooking, Arts’n’Crafts, and Yoga for Woodcraft Rangers. Her cooking class had a focus on replacing everyday favorite food items with more healthy and nutritious options. Mentoring several years for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Roni believes that a community is only as strong as the opportunities it provides for its youth.
Roni is the Maitre D’ at Post & Beam and the purveyor of good vibes. When she isn’t at Post & Beam, she spends all of her time at home with her amazing 3-year-old son Miles.
